With the outstanding levels of growth that 1 Cyber Valley has seen over the past 5 years, we have continuously had to face the challenge of how best to deliver our services to clients around the globe. As 1 Cyber Valley operates in five out of the six regions of work under the PCI DSS law, we constantly find ourselves working with companies located all around the world; this global image of ours is one that we absolutely thrive on!

As we have grown as an organisation, so has our team size. 1 Cyber Valley now employ people from multiple regions, and this is significant as it truly helps us keep up our company values of client responsivity. We pride ourselves on how fast we answer any queries or general inbound activity we have headed our way on a daily basis. Alongside this, we also see the ability of meeting our clients face to face, when they need, as essential. It is essential because we know that as auditors, we can naturally come across as the ‘scary examiner’ figure. This is definitely not the image we plan on sending across as we remind our clients that we are employed by them to act as helping hands and as an organisation that has their best interest in thought at all times.

The experience of working with entities around the world, like large hotel chains, clothing brands and many more, has only bettered our ability to see the best interest of clients. Our consultancy team is trained to always seek the best long-term solutions to any non-conformities our clients may have as this helps them in the long run, but also helps us know they are in safer hands moving forward. We often tend to place a close eye on areas of PCI security that clients may not even think affects their compliance, as it is just in our nature to seek the best for them. Working with clients around the world comes with its barriers of travel, time zone differences, national law (that may overrule PCI requirements) and many other areas. However, 1 Cyber Valley knows that it is simply our job to make the clients’ lives much easier and accommodate them in any areas that could otherwise be daunting.

We have done this through carrying out our physical and in-person audits for clients. At 1 Cyber Valley, we see the opportunity of doing these physical audits as a major blessing as it allows us to spend time with clients, during and after the audit. We’ve been for dinners and other extra-curricular activities with clients in the past, for the main purpose of getting to know them better. During the audit itself, we try to better the clients’ knowledge of what it is we do regarding their information security construct. We understand that we are often speaking with retail managers, store managers and, to some extent, employees themselves. Because of our acknowledgement of this, we take great care to communicate PCI DSS requirements in a way that is practical, relevant, and accessible to every level of the organisation. We do not believe compliance should feel abstract or intimidating; instead, we aim to ensure that every interaction leaves our clients with a clearer understanding of their security posture and a stronger sense of confidence in maintaining it moving forward.

We see international work not as a hindrance, but as something that challenges us in the most positive way as we continue to grow our global image. Our objective has never been to simply validate compliance, but to add genuine, lasting value to our clients’ operating models and security frameworks. This mindset is reflected in our consistently high client retention rates and the feedback we receive across regions. Trust, particularly in the PCI space, is earned through reliability, transparency, and the ability to adapt to complex environments - qualities we strive to demonstrate in every engagement. The fact that many of our clients choose to return to us year after year, across borders and jurisdictions, is something we do not take lightly and are sincerely grateful for.

Working with companies located around the world is something we truly value as an organisation and remain firmly committed to continuing in the years ahead. It is often asked why a client would choose to work with a QSA based outside their own country. The answer is simple: we make the process of PCI DSS compliance feel seamless, regardless of geography, complexity, or scale. By removing friction, anticipating challenges, and standing alongside our clients rather than across from them, we ensure that distance never becomes a barrier. As we reflect on our first five years, we do so with pride in what we have built, gratitude for the clients who have trusted us, and a clear focus on continuing to deliver thoughtful, human-centred, and globally relevant PCI assurance in the years to come.
